Statement of Faith

The Bible
The Holy Bible is the verbally inspired word of God (II Timothy 3:16, 17).

The Godhead
God exists in three separate, distinct entities; namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Though these are three, yet are they one (I John 5:7).

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, before He was born, existed equally with the Father (Philippians 2:6).

Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary, and conceived of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:20-23).

After His birth and during His existence upon the earth, He was “God manifested in the flesh” (I Timothy 3:16; Matthew 1:23), although He humbled Himself, and took upon Himself the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7).

While in the flesh, Jesus Christ was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15).

Jesus Christ suffered under Pontius Pilate, died for the sins of mankind, was buried with the rich, and rose again the third day for our justification (Matthew 27; Mark 15; Luke 23; John 19; Romans 4:25).

Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father, to make intercession for us (Acts 1:9; Romans 8:34).

Concerning our access to the Father, Jesus Christ is the absolute, only way to the Father. There is no access into heaven outside of Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ
As it is true that Jesus Christ ascended to the Father, it is also true that He will return to the earth a second time in the same manner in which He departed, for those who look for him (Acts 1:11; Hebrews 9:28).

Christ will return literally, visibly, and bodily. His coming will be premillennial, meaning there is to be a literal 1,000-year reign of Jesus Christ upon this present earth, and Christ’s return will precede it (Revelation 19, Revelation 20:1-6).

The Sinfulness of Man
All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

By Adam’s disobedience, all who have been born of the flesh were made sinners. By Christ’s obedience, all who have been born of the Spirit were made righteous (Romans 5:19).

The Judgment of God
Every one of us shall give account of himself to God (Romans 14:12).

There will be eternal life for the righteous and everlasting punishment for the wicked (Matthew 25:42).

Salvation
Salvation is by grace (Ephesians 2:5). This means that God made full provision to save us in the death of His Son, Jesus Christ. He made this provision when we were enemies (Romans 5:10), while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8), and in spite of what we deserved. “Salvation by grace” means that salvation is apart from works (Romans 4:6; Romans 11:6). We are neither saved nor kept saved by keeping laws, performing works, or any other effort on our part (Galatians 2:21).

Salvation is through faith (Ephesians 2:8, 9). This is man’s role in salvation. Rather than attempting to save ourselves, we place our faith in the blood that Jesus Christ shed upon the cross to save us (Romans 3:25). “Faith” is simply “believing ON” Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31). When one “believes ON” Jesus Christ, He is completely trusting Jesus Christ and Him alone for salvation. Asking the Lord for salvation, accompanied with believing, or trusting Him completely, saves the soul from sin (Romans 10:9-13).

Water Baptism
Water baptism is not infant baptism, but believer’s baptism. Only a believer, i.e. one who has received salvation, is eligible for baptism (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38).

Water baptism is performed by immersion (Matthew 3:16).

Water baptism is to be done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19).

The Gift of the Holy Ghost
The gift of the Holy Ghost, or the act of a believer being filled with the Holy Ghost, is available to believers today (Acts 2:38, 39).

The gift of the Holy Ghost is an experience subsequent to salvation, as Christians are commanded to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesian 5:18).

The gift of Holy Ghost is given for the purpose of Christians being witnesses, empowering them for service (Acts 1:6-8).

Moral Issues
Adherents to the Holy Bible stand for the life of the unborn. Abortion is murder in every instance, without exception. God Almighty knows the unborn personally (Jeremiah 1:5).

Marriage is defined in scripture as a MAN leaving his father and mother, and cleaving unto his WIFE (Genesis 2:24). The scripture further declares, “To avoid fornication, let every MAN have his own wife, and let every WOMAN have her own husband” (I Corinthians 7:2). Marriage is therefore clearly defined in scripture as being between a man and a woman.

The Bible not only defines marriage as being between a man and a woman, but condemns the act of homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:26, 27; I Corinthians 6:9, 10).
