On this tenth anniversary of the dreadful events of 9/11, I wish to, first of all, say to the families of every victim – you are not forgotten. On that awful day, firefighters ran INTO the very buildings that others were running OUT OF. Many in our nation remember those heroes. And, to the families of those firefighters who gave their lives to save others – you are not forgotten. To all whose lives were personally touched on 9/11/2001, you are not forgotten. Furthermore, to every man and woman heroically serving our great nation in various capacities around the globe – neither you nor your families are forgotten. I wish to say to each one serving our nation today – thank you for your sacrifice you so freely give!
Most importantly, our nation owes a great tribute to the One who has kept His hand upon our nation – the Creator, Almighty God, the Father of Jesus Christ, the God of the Bible. He gave His best – His only begotten Son – to seek and to save that which is lost. Jesus Christ gave all to rescue us from the enemy of our souls. The best way to prove that we, as a nation, have not forgotten 9/11, is to turn again to the God of the Bible, trusting Jesus Christ to set us free from our sins for which He died.
Our fathers’ God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing;
Long may our land be bright
With freedom’s holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God our King.*
